Wang Yuqi (1958) is from Qingyuan, Hebei Province. From 1977-1979, he worked in the Hebei Provincial Art Department. He started his training as a professional blockprinter at the Drawing Department of the Tianjin Art Academy in 1979, and graduated in 1983. After a few years of teaching, he enrolled in a refresher course in the Oil Painting Department of the Central Art Academy (1985-1987). He taught at the Tianjin Art Academy. Wang moved to the United States in 1994 and now resides in Brooklyn, New York.

Wang is known for his oil paintings. He has been awarded prizes, and some of his works have been included in various collections, including that of the China Art Gallery.
