Wen Quanyuan (1935-2011) was from Dalian, Liaoning Province. He graduated from the Beijing Normal University in 1956, and started his artistic carreer in 1958. He was editor at the People's Fine Arts Publishing House.

Wen was specialized in woodcuts and designs for children. For the latter, he received numerous national awards.
