Wu Hongsheng (no dates known) was an outstanding oil painting portrait artist from Hunan Province. From 1967 to 1968, he was commissioned by the Hunan Provincial Party Committee to successively create the oil painting "Young Mao Zedong Goes to Dongshan" (for the Shaoshan Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, which was included in the "Mao Zedong in Hunan" collection), and to create a huge glass mosaic painting "Mao Zedong Portrait in 1932" for the Mao Zedong Qingshuitang Memorial Hall.
