Wu Linsheng (伍霖生)

wulinshengWu Linsheng (1923-2008) was born in Rui'an, Zhejiang Province. In 1948, he graduated after four years of study in the Art Department of the Central University. A year later, he was employed in the Art Office of the Nanjing Municipal Military Affairs Control Committee. In 1951, he started to work in the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing Normal University, until 1978, when he transferred to the Zhejiang Provincial Chinese Painting Institute.

Wu has had a huge output of works of art, including Chinese paintings. He was awarded various prizes, and his works have been included in the collections of major Chinese museums, including that of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, of the Chinese Revolution, and the China Art Gallery.
