Wu Wei (1924), was born in Beijing. Graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1951. He has served as an art editor for newspapers and as Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Branch of the China Artists Association.  He specialized in Chinese painting. His works also include the New Year paintings "Reading the Newspaper" and "My Brother's Vacation."
