Xu Qingsong (1952) is from Chenghai, Guangdong Province. From 1972 until 1975, he studied block printing in the Guangdong People’s Art School. He worked in the Art Photography Exhibition Office of the Guangdong Provincial Art Department until 1978. The next year, he joined the Guangdong Art Institute, where he remains until the present.

Xu is a prolific block printer.
