Xu Zhenshi (1938) was from Shanghai. In 1965, he graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now the China Academy of Art). He served as editor, team leader, director, editor and reviewer of the People's Fine Arts Publishing House.
