Yang Zhiguang (1930-2016) was born in Jiexi, Guangdong Province. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1953, and is adept at traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy and seal cutting.
Yang was director of the Chinese Artists Association, professor of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, director of the Guangdong Literature and Art Federation, and dean of the Research Office of the Lingnan School of Painting. He collaborated with his wife Ou Yang.
