Yan Wenxi (1938) was born in Yangge, Henan Province. He graduated in 1962 from the Oil Painting Department of the Guangzhou Fine Arts Institute. In 1970, he became a cadre in the Shaanxi Branch of the Chinese Artists Association, where he still works.
