Zeng Hongliu (1938-2011) was born in Shanwei Fishing Port, Guangdong Province. In 1965, he graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. From 1965-1984, he taught in the Chinese Painting Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. After retiring, he lived in seclusion in a small village in Hualong Town, Panyu, and continued his artistic work.
