Zhang Guang (1941) was born in Leting, Hebei Province. After his graduation from the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Art Academy in 1965, he went straight to the People's Fine Arts Publishing House.

Zhang is known for his portraits and paintings of animals (cattle and horses).
