Zhang Hong (1931-2001) was born in Hefei, Anhui Province. He graduated from the Northern Anhui Art Cadre School in 1951 and studied at the Printmaking Department of the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1955. He worked in the Anhui Branch of the Chinese Artists Association and the Anhui Provincial People's Art Museum.

Zhang was known for his printmaking.
