Zhang Weizhi (1943) hails from Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. In 1967, he graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Art Academy, before he went to teach at the Shanxi Provincial Opera Institute. He now is attached to the Shanxi Provincial Culture and Art Institute.

Zhang is known for his Chinese paintings. He collabarated with Li Huiran.
