Zhang Youlan (1932-2024) was born in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. She graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the South China People's Academy of Literature and Art in 1953. She worked in the Guangdong Art Studio, the Guangdong Branch of the Guangdong Artists Association, and the Guangdong Slide Studio. In 1960, she was transferred to the Guangdong Academy of Painting as a full-time painter and was awarded the title of third-class model worker of the South China Direct-Affiliated Institutions. Her works have won many awards, participated in national art exhibitions, provincial and municipal art exhibitions, and were selected for exhitions in Spain, the former Yugoslavia, Australia and other countries.
