Zhang Zemin (1943) is from Yangqu, Shanxi Province. After his graduation from the Art School of the Shanxi Provincial Art Academy in 1965, he engaged for a long time in artistic activities. In 1982, he entered a refresher course in the Blockprint Department of the Central Art Academy. He now teaches at the Shanxi Provincial Drama School.

Zhang's specialties are stage design and blockprints. In 1999, he won the "Lu Xun Prize for Outstanding Chinese Printmaking from the 1980s to the 1990s".
