Zhang Zebi (1926) was born in Qingdao, Shandong Province. In 1942, she entered the National Painting Section of the Beiping Art Training School, and she continued her studies in the Art Department of Furen University. She became art editor for the Tianjin-based Xin wanbao [新晚报, New Evening Paper] in 1952, and moved to a similar position with the Tianjin ribao [天津日报, Tianjin Daily] in 1960. She now works as editor in the New Year Picture Office of the Tianjin Fine Arts Publishing House, a job to which she was transferred in 1974.

Ms. Zhang is known for her comic strips and book illustrations.
