Zhao Jingdong (1930) was born in Tianjin. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1953 and served as editor of the Beijing Popular Reading Material Publishing House and deputy editor of the Tianjin People's Fine Arts Publishing House.

Zhang is good at Chinese painting and comic strips, for which he has received awards.
