Zhou Chengli (1927) is from Beijing. In 1952, he graduated from the Department of Applied Arts of the Central Art Academy and took up teaching. He transferred to teach at the Central Academy of Industrial Arts in 1956. He transferred again in 1983, to the Industrial Modeling Section of the Shandong Industrial Arts Academy.
Zhou is mainly known for his design work. Nonetheless, his 1953 propaganda poster design "Marxism-Leninism - The radiance of Mao Zedong Thought illuminates New China" (Makesi Liening zhuyi - Mao Zedong sixiangde guanghui zhaoyaozhe xin Zhongguo, 马克思列宁主义 - 毛泽东思想的光辉照耀着新中国) counts as one his major works.
