Zhou Dazheng (1941-2020) was from Shashi, Hubei Province. He first studied block printing, but later he switched to oil painting at the Zhejiang Art Academy. After graduation in 1965, he was sent to work in a museum in the Linxia Hui Autonomous Area in Gansu Province. In 1987, he became an Associate professor in the Fine Arts Research Office of the Arts Faculty of the Northwest Minorities' University.
Zhou is known for his oil paintings, some of which have been included in the collection of the Yellow River Museum.
