Zhou Juejun (周觉钧)

ZhoujuejunZhou Juejun (1927, Ningxian, Hunan Province) graduated in 1951 from the East China branch of the Central Art Academy. From 1952 till 1957, he headed the Creative Section of the Anhui Provincial Art Work Office. Zhou was falsely branded as a Rightist and a member of the 'Jiang Feng Anti-Party Clique' in 1958. Only in 1979, he was allowed to return to work, in the Anhui Provincial Art Research Office.

Zhou's Chinese paintings are well-known. His 1951 work, 'The people's militia has rifle practice to protect home and nation', won a prize at the 1951 National New Year Picture Competition. The Great Hall of the People, the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, the Liu Shaoqi Memorial Hall, the New Fourth Army Memorial Hall, the Xinhai Revolution Memorial Hall, the Anhui Provincial Museum Collection, the Hunan Provincial Museum, and the Qinghai Provincial Museum have displayed and collected a large number of Zhou's paintings and calligraphy works.
