Bai Xuhao (1949) was born in Huxian, Shaanxi Province. In 1972, he started his studies at the Xi'an Art Academy. Bai is now an acknowledged peasant painter; he is considered one of the best representatives of the new generation of Huxian Peasant Painters.

Bai has produced paintings, but he is also a well-known and widely published serial cartoonist.
