Fang Etai (1941) hails from Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. After graduating from art school, he specialized in designing exhibitions for museums, memorial halls, and special exhibits. Some of the work he designed is displayed in the Shaanxi Hall in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The poster Chairman Mao teaching theory in Yan'an, 1975 has been designed by Fang Etai in collaboration with Huang Naiyuan and Wang Laixin.
