Fang Jiong (1940 ?, no further details known) was born in a scholarly family. At the age of 5, he was enlightened by his father, the painter Fang Ziyan. At the age of 10, he learned calligraphy and painting from his uncle, Jinshi calligraphy and painting master Fang Jiekan. He was transferred to the Wenzhou Arts and Crafts Research Institute in 1961 and was destined to become the vice president of Wu Changshuo Art Research Association.
