Huang Zixi (1917-1991) was from Fuzhou, Fujian province. He worked as designer for the Shanghai Shaoxing Opera Theatre, and was a member of the Shanghai Artists Association and the Shanghai Research Institute of Culture and History.
Well-known works by his hand are "Becoming a member of the agricultural cooperative", exhibited at the Second National Fine Arts Exhibition and at the Moscow Fine Arts museum in 1958, and "Spring in fishing harbour", acquired by the Museum of Chinese History in Beijing.
