Jin Gao (1933-2006) was from Beijing. Ms. Jin studied under Xu Beihong and graduated from the Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1952. The next year, she was transferred to Inner Mongolia, where she spent 30 years. She served as the art editor of the Inner Mongolia Pictorial (内蒙古画报) and worked in the Inner Mongolia Museum. In 1983, she and her husband Wang Jida (王济达), a sculptor, moved to New York.

Ms. Jin was known for her oil paintings.
