Li Kong'an (1934) was born in Bangtang Village, Leizhou, Guangdong Province. He graduated from Leizhou Normal University, Guangdong Province. In 1962, he studied in the Printmaking Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. A large number of his blockprints have been selected nationwide and overseas.
In 1974, the print "Fishing on a sea of angry waves" was selected for the National Art Exhibition; it was included in the "Selection of Art Works for the 25th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China" (建国25周年美术作品选集).
