Mei Fei (1916-2007) was from Taishan, Guangdong. He studied at the Guangzhou Municipal School of Fine Arts, and worked as cartoonist for newspapers in Guangzhou. During the Second Sino-Japanese War he was active as artist and art editor, a.o. for organizations of the Military Command in Guangdong and Guangxi. At some point in time he emigrated to the United States.
