Meng Yingsheng (1932-1997) was a native of Zizhong, Sichuan Province. In 1958, he graduated from the Chinese Figure Painting Department of the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now China Academy of Art). In his early years, he was engaged in the creation of comic strips, and successively published more than 40 comic strips.
