Sheng Cijun (1915-1996) was from Guixian, Guangxi Province. She graduated from the Shanghai Fine Arts Training Institute in 1934, and studied for a year in Japan. From 1936-1941, she taught art classes in middle school in Guilin, Guangxi. In the early 1950s, she started work in the publishing industry, and later, she was transferred to the People's Fine Arts Publishing House in Beijing.

Ms. Sheng specialized in New Year pictures and propaganda paintings.
