Sun Jiandong (1952) was born in Shanghai. In January 1982, he graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of the Yunnan Academy of Arts and stayed on as a teacher.

Sun is good in Chinese painting, and a large number of his works have been published, exhibited, and won awards.
