Xiao Lin (1929-1981), also known as Ma Bingduo (马秉铎), was from Baoding, Hebei Province. He graduated from the Art Department of the Northwest United University. He was part of a children's plays unit in the Northwest Front Service Corps; he worked in the Jin-Cha-Ji border region; and elsewhere. After 1949, he worked as an editor with the People's Fine Arts Publishing House.

Xiao was known for his cartoons and New Year prints.
