Xu Fubao (徐甫堡)

Xu Fubao (1912-2004), also known as Dun Ge (盾戈), was a native of Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province. He served as art editor of newspapers and publishing houses, and was a professor of the Shanghai Theater Academy. He participated in the All-China Woodcut Association Against the Enemy, and the Baiyang Art Society of the National Hangzhou Academy of Art. As Dun Ge, he published political cartoons in underground publications. After 1949, he published comics such as "The White Haired Girl", "Daniang", and "How Steel Is Made". His oil paintings and sculptures were selected for the first national art exhibition. He was the recipient of the Lu Xun Prize for Printmaking.

Xu was known for printmaking, sculpture, oil painting, and his art education abilities.
