Ying Tao (英韜)

yingtaoYing Tao (1925-2012), formerly known as Yang Junsheng (杨筠生), was from Zhaoxian, Hebei Province. He graduated in 1947 from the Art Department of the Art Academy of the North China United University and continued his research at the Culture and Art Academy at the same University. After his graduation there, in 1947, he went to work at the Ministry of Railways as a journalist for the People's Railways Daily (Renmin tiedao bao, 人民铁道报). In 1953, he transferred to the People's Daily (Renmin ribao, 人民日报), where he worked as an editor, deputy head of the Literature and Art section, and as one of the main editors of the weekly supplement Satire and Humor (Fengci yu youmo, 讽刺与幽默). He retired in 1986.

Ying was mainly known for his cartoons.
