Yixi Zeren (益西泽仁)

Yixi Zeren (1941) is from Kangding, Sichuan Province. Yixi, who is also known under the name Wang Yichuan (王艺川), is of Tibetan ethnicity. He graduated in 1956 from the middle school attached to the Sichuan Art Academy. In 1961, he started work in the cultural centre of the Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous District. Yixi is still employed by the centre.

The poster The 1936 Meeting of Zhu De and Living Buddha Geda from 1983 is based on a collaborative painting by Yixi Zeren, with Mei Dingkai, Nima Zeren, Renzhen Langjia, Da Wa, Yixi Sangdan, Lü Shumin and Chen Bingxi. Yixi specializes in Tibetan tangka painting.
