Zhong Han (钟涵)

zhonghanZhong Han (1929-2023) was born in Pingxiang, Jiangxi Province. He studied architecture at Tsinghua University from 1946-1948. In 1955, he entered the Oil Painting Department of the Central Art Academy and after his graduation in 1959, he joined the teaching faculty of the Academy. In the period 1960-1963, he took part in an oil painting seminar conducted by Luo Gongliu.

In 1980, he went to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, for advanced studies. He became a visiting scholar at Ghent University in 1984, and an academician of the Royal Academy of Arts in Belgium in 1993.

Zhong was specialized in oil paintings.
