Zhu Guangrong (1942) was born in Linxia City, Gansu Province. When he was young, he was keen on the creation of Chinese paintings, New Year pictures, and comic strips, and had published more than a thousand works. After reform and opening up (1978), he was transferred to a newspaper office as an American editor, and he became acquainted with comics and created a large number of comic works. More than 500 of his works have been published in newspapers and periodicals inside and outside the province. In order to make the comics more artistic and enjoyable, he took advantage of his expertise in traditional Chinese painting to explore and experiment with the creation of ink comics, and achieved gratifying results.
