Ms. Wei Jiangqiong (1940-2018) was of Zhuang ethnicity and came from Fusui, Guangxi Province. She graduated in 1961 from the Chinese Painting Department of the Hubei Art Academy and taught for a few years before becoming a full-time staff member of her alma mater in 1965. In 1983, she transferred to the Fujian Painting Academy, where she joined the staff.
