Weng Yizhi (1921-1995) was from Shanghai. In the 1940s, he was engaged in artistic work for the New Fourth Army Service Corps. From 1950 onwards, he worked in various artistic organizations in Shanghai, including the Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House. There, he became the deputy head of the editorial department of the section responsible for publishing New Year pictures and propaganda prints.
Weng was specialized in propaganda poster design. He has received numerous awards for his works, and some of his designs have been included in national collections.
