Zhang Zhimin (1929-2011, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province) graduated from the Drawing Department of the East China Art School in 1954. In the years following, Zhang worked as an art editor for the Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House; head of the Book Cover Design Class of the Shanghai Publishing University; and as a cadre in the Anhui Provincial Wuhu Municipal Museum and the Wuhu Municipal Cultural Office. He was a member of the Wuhu Municipal Calligraphy and Art Institute.
Zhang was known for his block prints (some of which were included in the collection of the China Art Gallery) and oil paintings.
He is also mentioned as "responsible editor" (責任編輯 章志敏) on some posters (Let the children grow up in peaceful days! and Smash the rightists' furious attacks! - Defend socialist construction!, both 1957) and Women! Produce vigorously, run your household with diligence and thrift! (1958).
