Li Jiyuan (1925) was born in Wenshui, Shanxi Province. In his career, he has been art editor of the Taiyuan Daily (太原日报, Taiyuan ribao) and the Taiyuan Illustrated (太原画报, Taiyuan huabao).

Li is known for his comic strips and New Year pictures. He cooperated on poster designs with Lin Fan, Wang Jue and Meng Qingjiang.
