The set refers to the folk tale "The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl". In this story, Niulang and Zhinü were gods, whose love was forbidden by celestial laws. Niulang is reincarnated into a poor cowherd on earth, Zhinü is forced to weave colorful clouds all day long in heaven.
