The Baocheng railway is between Baoji (Shaanxi province) and Chengdu (Sichuan province).
It was one of the major railway construction projects during the first Five-Year Plan and got a lot of media coverage. Many artists went to the construction sites. Ha Haixia spent months there, and created several paintings.
