Dong Xiaoming (1948) is from Heilongjiang Province. He studied woodcuts at the Zhejiang Art Academy. In 1969, he started designing woodcuts and illustrations for children. He excels in both genres.

The famous poster 'Tempering red hearts in stormy waves' is a collaborative work of Dong, with Zong Wenlong, Gao Eryi and Liang Pingbo.
