Wu Shaoyun (吴少云)

Wu Shaoyun (no dates known), a native of Wuxian, Jiangsu Province, was a painter of calendar posters (月份牌) during the Republic of China. Together with Lu Zezhi, Zhang Yuqing, and Xin Liliang, they were called the "Four Great Masters of the Shanghai School". He painted many popular New Year paintings.

From 1917 on, he successively worked for Nanyang Brothers, Huacheng, and the British American Tobacco Company. He used to be an artist in the Fine Arts Department of the Yizhong Tobacco Company and an artist in the Fine Arts Department of the Grand Advertising Company. After 1949, he worked in the People's Fine Arts Publishing House.
