A doublesided poster, illustrating several articles of the National Security Law. The National Security Law of 1993 was the first law in China to stipulate that state security organs perform the duties of safeguarding national security, particularly counter-espionage duties. The National Security Law of 1993 was renamed the Counter-Espionage Law in 2014, and its main contents have not been adjusted since, said the ministry. The Counter-Espionage Law was revised in April 2023, taking effect on 1 July 2023.

The vertical text reads "It is the sacred duty of the citizens to safeguard national security".
