We have kept to a more literal translation of the first part, which is also defined as a fixed expression: "If the enemy triumphs, there will be no place for us, if we are to survive, the enemy must be vanquished!". The two slogans have been attributed to soldiers in the Long March and the Second Sino-Japanese War.
