The painting was made in 1954, exhibited at the Second National Art Exhibition in Beijing, 1955, and published in several versions. This is a small print, meant as middle school study material. Our copy was used in the No. 29 Middle School Teaching Department (二十九中 教导处), according to the round stamp below right.
