The ship in the background is the Dongfeng (东风 - East Wind), China's "first 10,000-ton ocean-going ship completely developed, designed and built in China, completed on January 8, 1968". On an earlier, 1974 version of this poster the same ship is named Gong nong bin (工农兵 - Workers, Peasants, Soldiers).
