A poster devoted to water conservancy, water management, and irrigation. The image is crammed with slogans wishing Mao Zedong Long Live, extolling the virtues of self-reliance, following the example of Dazhai in agriculture, etc.

The Foolish Old Man who moved mountains was refered to by Mao in his concluding speech at the Seventh National Congress of the CCP on 11 June 1945. It would become one of the Three Constantly Read Articles, all written before 1949, which would provide ideological guidance for the People's Liberation Army after Lin Biao became Minister of Defence after 1959.
