This series consists of 11 posters, illustrating the scope and workings of the Anti-Unfair Competition Law of the People's Republic of China (中华人民共和国反不正当竞争法, 1993); the Company Law of the People's Republic of China (中华人民共和国公司法, 1993); the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China (中华人民共和国商标法, originally adopted in 1983, revised in 1992); the Advertising Law of the People's Republic of China (中华人民共和国广告法, 1994); and the Consumer Rights and Interests Protection Law of the People's Republic of China (中华人民共和国消费者权益保护法, 1993).

The poster explains the workings of the Advertising Law of the People's Republic of China (中华人民共和国广告法), adopted and promulgated on 27 October 1994. The two vertical text lines on the right read "Advertisements should be true, legal, and in line with the requirements of socialist spiritual civilization construction" and "The industrial and commercial administrative departments of the people's governments at or above the county level are the advertising supervision and management agencies" (广告应当真实,合法,符合社会主义精神文明建设的要求; 县级以上人民政府工商行政管理部门是广告监督管理机关). The two vertical text lines on the left read "Advertisers, advertising operators, and advertising publishers shall abide by this Law when engaging in advertising activities within the territory of the People's Republic of China" and "Advertisements must not contain false content and must not deceive or fool consumers" (广告主,广告经营者,广告发布者在中华人民共和国境内从事广告活动,应当遵守本法。广告不得含有虚假的内容,不得欺骗和舞蹈消费者).

The two horizontal text lines in the middle read "Advertisements should be identifiable and enable consumers to identify them as advertisements" (广告应当具有可识别性,能够使消费者辨明其为广告); and "Advertisements must not disparage the goods or services of other producers and operators" (广告不得贬低其他生产经营者的商品或服务).

The four cartoons below make clear that advertisements may not harm minors; public spaces may not carry advertisements for drugs, alcohol, cigarettes.
